Finding an allergy friendly bakery is so hard and this place knocked it out of the park. The owner is an absolute delight, she not only eased my worries with all the allergies my daughter has but also made a delicious cake. Our cake was made quickly with great quality. My family will 100% be going back to this little bakery!!

This mom and pop run bakery is a hidden gem. They were so kind and welcoming when I came to pick up my vegan chocolate cake. My friends devoured the cake and came back for seconds. I’m so happy I found you guys and I’ll be coming back for more!! You guys are wonderful.

Ordered ‘The Ring Ding’ cake for a family member’s birthday. It was like a supersized Ring Ding and tasted delicious. The owner was pleasant to work with and took pride in her creation. So, if you are in need of a special cake, this is the one to order.

I was looking to buy a dairy free cake for someone I work with and I stumbled upon the Sunflower Bake Shop in West Hempstead. I consulted with Elana, the owner of the shop and we went over the type of cake I was looking for and the dietary needs of the person the cake was for. Elana was very patient and listened to all my concerns. She is such a lovely person and is very warm. Her husband is very kind as well and was very helpful as I placed the order. When I came to pick up the cake, the cake was decorated beautifully. Before I left, Elana had me sample a challah roll that she baked. The roll was vegan and sugar free. I am not a vegan but I have to say that this roll was amazing! It did not taste like anything was missing from it. The outside was crusty yet had a soft and pillowy center. It was absolutely delightful! The next day we cut the cake at work and everybody was ranting and raving about how delicious the cake was! You would never know that the cake was dairy free. The cake was moist and the chocolate frosting was rich and velvety! I will definitely buy from the Sunflower Bake Shop again.

I am SO GLAD I found this gem! They accommodate several food sensitivities, such as to dairy and sugar!! I also love that they use wholesome ingredients and can bake freshly for you ☺️

This adorable bakery has many delicious allergy options (vegan, gluten free, etc) and I am always so happy to walk in- the owners are the sweetest people and they are always so happy to help

I had them customize cookies and cream vegan cupcakes for a graduation party. People grabbed for them more over the non-vegan cupcakes that were brought (very telling). Great experience with this bake shop and the couple that runs it seem to be sweet people who work very hard. When I picked up my cupcakes, I saw that they have Vegan Challah which I’ve never had before and I decided to buy it. It was very addicting and had a lovely taste. Will definitely be ordering from them in the near future.

I recently received a vegan 12 inch red velvet cake and a small vegan cheese cake for my solar return and let me start with the cheese cake. It was delicious and sharp it had a custard like texture and tasted really good. I really enjoyed the crust as well. Now, the red velvet was soooo delicious. You can't tell it's vegan. It's so decadent and moist and perfectly well balanced the frosting was too sweet for me so after a few bites I just went for the cake without it but even alone it did not disappoint. It's one of the best cakes I've had out of all of the red velvets i've experienced. Thank you so much. Keep up the amazing work.

Had an amazing time there as the owner is so personable and aims to have a “small cafe in Connecticut kind of feel” which I definitely got. She really works to personalize your orders and is willing to try new recipes. I got the chocolate chip and strawberry cheesecake, apple cinnamon muffins, chocolate cupcakes, chocolate mousse, chocolate chip cookies , double chocolate cookies, and bloodies which all tasted incredible! I highly recommend anyone with a special diet whether it be gluten (which she has a separate area of the kitchen for), vegan, kosher, etc. this is your place!

Amazing cakes, great service and very good prices! From the time I called to ask about ordering a vegan cake for my two year old’s birthday, the owner was so kind and attentive. The staff was very nice when I went to pick up the cake. It looked great and tasted amazing! Great products and very affordable! We will definitely use them again.
